Here is a couple of Trout that Col Svensson and I caught on a trip up north. They both weighed within a wisker of each other and both pulled like the beejesus.

I'm not too sure. We were fishing with one of Col's(aka Fisher Boats) mates who lives in Cairns. It was out off there but I have never fished the area and only know it was just out of Cairns and slightly south. Big patch of reef that. Apologies for being a bit vague but that is all I know.
Tim
Tim,
Wasn't sudbury reef? Just southeast of Fitzroy island?

A bit late with this one but it's my P.B. so I thought I would post it regardless. This trout was taken from North West Island about 5 years back. It had a trace and gang hooks in its mouth from a previous bust-off by one of our crew the day before. It weighed a touch over 6 kg's
Can anyone explain why Coral Trout occassionally have a blackish head when caught ???
Cheers Craigie.
There maori warrior trout face covered in tatoos
