    Hawaiian Ulua-96 lb. GT!

My cousin caught this fish in 2003. Super strong fish actually towed him and his 14 foot aluminum skiff out to deeper water. His fishing partner for the day was a visiting stewardess from Singapore Air. She wasn't too much help boating this beast. It was caught off the Puna Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, hit a slow trolled top water plug. My son Evan is in the picture taking a closer look at the business end of this guy. Ancient Hawaiians reverved the GT, knowing it was the top inshore predator, and a fine food fish. This one was eaten, what you see in the picture is a painted fiberglass casting of the original. This one fed my cousin and many of his neighbors, in Hawaii, nothing goes to waste.

I bet it would have towed him, that GT is massive. Glad to hear it wasnt fully wasted either.

Sorry nope...but my cousin tells me even though she didn't know how to fish, she had alot of talent. Btw, my cousin, the angler who caught this fish is Jason Scott Lee, he's got plenty of muscle to bring in big fish. When not acting in movies, he's fishing. Yes, you heard that right. Fishes regularly, for the healthy subsistence lifestyle he has chosen to live. He grows his own food, and fishing is part of the deal. His normal catch is Ahi(yellowfin tuna), uku(gray snapper), GT's, mahi mahi, and ono(wahoo), all caught slow trolling or deep jigging off the southeast coast of the Big Island. Virtually unfished, deep and teaming with all species. A chance to hook up a huge variety of species every day. A Hawaii specific link here:
