Now THATS a fish. Nice one. I am an ex WA boy myself. Now in QLD. They call their fish funny names over here. Like over here a Mulloway is a jewy. Go figure.
I CAME INTO THIS WORLD KICKING, SCREAMING AND COVERED IN SOMEONE ELSES BLOOD. I HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING OUT THE SAME WAY.
NEWBY T.G.
Mmmm, lovely, one of the best eating fish there is.
I hate to rain on your parade boys, but that beauty is a WA Dhufish, not Jewfish.
From what I have seen, its nearest East Coast cousin is the Pearl Pearch.
To complicate things even further, what they call a Jewie over on the East coast is a Mulloway in WA.
David, you should have known better, Hally and myself bought heaps of these home.
Acko
Good fish, thats the first WA dhu i've seen on this site.
Top Dhu fishhunter. Heres one I got the other week from 15m of water on 6kg, mmmmmmmmmmm.
Gotta love the West Aussie Icon.
Thats a great photo. That would have been a bit of a tussle on that gear in that depth
where did you get him.
Caught that one off the 3 mile out from Hillaries.
Mate got a much bigger one a while before that thou out in 40m.
Cheers,
Adam

Good to see some of the best from the wild west. Gotto go over and have a crack at one of those one day, I see it as the same souterners travelling north to catch a mighty barra or a northerner going south to catch a big knobbie. Awesome fish fellas.
Nice fish that second one.
Is that a Trailcraft your mate has??
Yeh mate, trailcraft 5800 centrecab.
Heres another one of our beautiful dhues, 21kg.
There are certainly some nice fish there boys.
I used to fish for Dhuies in Geographe Bay either out from Bunbury or Busso, either way ended in much the same area. On one trip, with three of us in the boat, we had been out all day and were just about to pull up our lines when the skippers line got hit. A nice Dhuie which went 18kg
Then my line went, and the result was my best Dhuie ever, 19.5kg. With all the yahooing and carry on I didnt notice the third one in the boat fighting a nice fish. He had lighter gear than me & the skipper so it was a bloody good effort as his went 21kg.
From being a complete failure, our day out changed in 15 minutes to being an outstanding success.
But that's fishing!!
Fantastic fish guys, I wish our pearlies grew to that size.

Muzz I'd hate to be draggin one of those beasts up from the depths of water you fish.
Awww, where's your spirit of adventure Mark, nothing compares to that feeling that your shoulders ARE about to dislocate, or yor poofle valve IS about to hit the deck.
What is the average depth you get those beauties in guys?
