Morty got him up a lucinda in one of the creeks that cross under the roads that lead to the main town i think the creek was a bit brachish water he must have been eating the tarpon in there because the creek is full of them the tarpon are every were in there you get a tarpon every cast almost if any ones going to lucinda stop of at one of the creeks thats called cattle creek that you go over on the way to lucinda its about a half an hour away from main town and have a flick with light gear you should have some fun but be carefull for the crocs.

Here is a tread from a while back. Got some good barra pics in it. Saves me from having to repost all the pics again. http://www.ausfish.com.au/cgi-ausfis...num=1107097065

Here's a pic' of a real legend - Rowdy (up on a visit from Tennant Creek) - we were on the mouth of the Adelaide earlier in the year - he'd lost his little lure box over the side and I only had one left as I'd lost two and we had intended to fish with live-bait anyway - so he decided to make an artificial lure out of a 7/0 hook, a strip of aluminium cut from a VB tinnie (flashy green and silver) and some wire leader we use for macs. The barra was 118cm long, took 20 minutes to land (pretty quick really) and weighed a friggin tonne! I'd say well over 20kgs. When I catch one that big, I'll let you know - Hell, I'll let everyone know!

Re: Show us your best Barra photo.

This 101cm Salty was extracted from a creek south of Townsville last October.

A trolled Richo lure along a mangrove bank was it's undoing !!!
I didn't weigh it, can anybody estimate it ??
