Blue Salmon

Hey guys, picked up this blue salmon late last year off the Marlin jetty (Cairns). I was collecting bait for the reef so I thought it would be worthwhile chucking a livie out while there. As expected I got about the maximum distance from my outfit and it went off. Ended up getting to it in time and landed this salmon.

That looks like you were out the back of reef fleet terminal, yes?

Thought that they had banned any sort of fishing in that area, but might have to pay it a visit if it's all good and the Port Authority don't get too grumpy

I got it at the marlin jetty. You are allowed to fish on the ocean side of the outer jetty but only on one side. A bit ridiculous if you ask me but apparently its to do with public liability. There are signs there that show where you can fish, if you fish elsewhere a security car moves you on. Best fishing time is usually around low tide.
