Avatar resizing

Is it possible to have an Avatar smaller than 100x100?

My Avatar is a little angry looking (I like it so I'll keep it) but I was hoping to have it show up as a smaller verson (say 50x50). But when I insert my 50x50 version, it is stretched out and goes all blury.

Anything I can do other than adding a border around a smaller pic?

Resize the image but not the canvas size. Will put some white space around the image, or whatever colour you decide on.

Other than that, no there is no way of having one smaller.

You could also save it as a gif and select the surounding colour to be transparent so you don't end up with a border around it.
