Dead Members
Members that have joined some years ago and have never posted ?? Should we blow them away to free up space and member names.
I think that if you are not actively posting (in twelve or maybe six months) then you are gone.
Just my thoughts but keen to hear from others.

Re: Dead Members
Those figures are only a snapshot at a certian time frame during the day.
There are over 2500 people on the board each day, although I haven't checked those stats for a while so it could easily be over 3000.
Some Members will login every now and then when they want to post or send a PM but they may be veiwing the boards on a daily basis as a guest. This happens quite often as some people do not like to login on a piblic computer such as their work computer.
Others may login every blue moon and others may only ever join to get answers to a specific question. They may then login weeks or months later to ask another question.
Some Members simply join so that they can use teh system to know what posts are new.
It is not uncommon for me to get an E-mail from someone saying that they forgot their password and have changed E-mail address and can't get the system to send them their password. When I look at their profile it is often the case that they have not been logged in for quite some time. They still want to use that Membername as it is theirs and they have registered it.
So it is difficult for anyone to say who is and isn't a dead Member, unless of course they have joined but never ended up logging in. This sometimes happens as some people enter their E-mail address incorrectly and they will never receive their password.

Re: Dead Members
One thing that can be guaranteed is that members who have been banned for good won't be posting again. That then definately becomes a dead member.
