cursor problem,,,board freezing???

now on a more serious note,,,,

in the last couple of weeks,,, i've been experiencing a small annoying problem

half way through typing a post,,the cursor dissappears,,, and leaves what you've typed up to the point of it disappearing,,, and i have to click back on the board to resume typing

this will sound even weirder,,, and no the scotch bottle is not beside me,,

every now and then,,, i hear a click and the refresh button/bar on the bottom of the screen flashes,,,its normally then that the cursor goes walkabout,,, is it just me????????

point of interest,, it happened twice in typing this

Never seems to happen to me. Although my page never automatically refreshes when im typing.

What operating system are you using and what browser and version?

The sames been happening to me, can be merrily typing along and whammo the flashing horizantal line rockets off to the side of the screen.
i also have the problem when typing, sometime the letters dont come up till youve type 2 or 3 more(maybe im typing too fast }, and it sometimes jams when you want to delete an incorrect letter youve type.
maybe the key board is stuffed, but its only 4 months old.

I have had the same problem a couple of times in the past few days...using win XP..IE6

oh..being the typist that I am I have to look at the keyboard as I type..look up and half the message is not there...bloody frustrating.

Does it have anything to do with the type of template selected in your user profile options ie refresh or default ?

all i know is that has only just started to occur over the past few weeks,,,i haven't done anything to the putor,,,ie downloads,,,new programs,,,etc

but it seems to be a common thing,,,,as it happened at work today also,,,different 'putor

the expert behind me advises,,, windows xp,,,,,internet explorer 6,,,

if this means have i updated to ie7,,,,,no,,,,due to the finance programs that i run are still incountering probs with the new version

hence why i haven't done or altered anything,,,,,ps all upgrade access has been turned off ,,, so an auto upgrade without me knowing hasn't occured

'putor at work is also ie6,,,,and i think xp as well

if this helps,,,,which it probably won't,,,, i've encountered another prob on a different forum in the same time barrier (nearly)

each time that i log in,,,it only allows me to sign in for 1 hour,,,if i opt for 3 hrs or for ever,,,i keep getting an error code and it wont allow any access

the owner of this forum is known to all,,, and he has only recently upgraded the board

he has deleted my id,,,,we've tried everything,,,even signing back on as a different id,,

still occurs,,,under choppa,,,,,,,,,

other forum is around hervey,,,just letting you know in case you think of anything that we haven't

down the bottom its got

happens in both replies,,, full and quick,,,,and when your posting a thread

as advised in pm,,,,,pm's are trouble free

Can't get it to apen in IE6 on Windows 2000. Am trying it now in XP with IE7, have already updated.

Will see if it happens here while i type this message, so far so well. Couldn't get it to do it even when I typed 30 odd lines of junk.


It appeas to be an XP IE6 issue. Would apear that it is tied up with the banner ads when they refresh every 90 seconds.

Will do some searching around to see if there is a quick fix.

For those that can I would suggest to update to IE7

banner ads though steve have been around for some time,,,,

this on my 'putor has only been occuring since mid december
