Mate i am not asking you to wait untill the 2 sep. I asked that you keep the 2 SEPTEMBER 2006 free as there will be a very important event happening on that day.

    Fellow Ausfishers,
It’s not about what we could do or when , it’s about the what we will do and how!!
We cannot afford to jump in head first without at least testing the water, we have the support and the avenues to create what will be a first time event , it is in motion, so be patient, all off us will know when and where before most, until then, keep your vote for what you believe in….

    Cheers,
    Chong

Pinhead it was under the heading "Important Announcement"... maybe your computer is faulty - cause I was one of the first 100 or so to view it and it worked fine for me try this link: http://www.ausfish.com.au/forum/YaBB...num=1156026282

The rest of this post is general - not aimed at any individual in particular....

Like Shane said - there are a lot of legal arrangements to be made - what sort of event would it be if we invited several hundred (or more) people and they all got fined. Dont worry the event will be massive and well run - not amateur hour but these kinds of things take preparation. The announcement when made will be formal... then you can give us all a blast... just relax - these things take time - if they announced it in a weeks time and didnt give you enough warning to clear your schedule - then you'd probably be whinging about that too .

Nothing wrong with my computer adamy..I gave up trying to read the announcement as it did not work: http://www.ausfish.com.au/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1156035590

okay...I think there needs some clarification on here..seems to be some people in the "know" and others not.
kc has stated that all TFP statements are to be issued by himself as chairman but as Shane is running as an Independent then he can make statements on his own behalf now. My question is: Who else on here makes up Shane's campaing team? It appears that there are a few people that are making statements based on what they know but are they speaking on behalf of Shane's team or not ?

As for comments about people whinging, this is politics you are playing in now...everyone is entitled to an opinion as they are also entitled to a vote...a word of advice..don't label people...quickest way to make them vote elsewhere.

There is no doubt, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
However, the comment about your vote possibly going elsewhere because you feel aggreived by some comments in this post ... I don't think any of the people working for TFPQ are professionals and they certainly are not getting anything out of it, other than the satisfaction of knowing that they, personally, are doing something to try and keep Moreton Bay open to fishing FOR OUR BENEFIT.
Perhaps some patience is not too much to ask for.
In my opinion, it certainly would not be wise to vote elsewhere just to spite TFPQ when WE RECREATIONAL FISHERS are going to be the beneficiaries of any benefits their votes bring.
I don't know what's happening on the date in question either but it must be going to ring a few bells when it does get announced.

GES..please read what I wrote..I wrote "don't label people..quickest way to make them vote elsewhere"
I did not say me....it was a general statement...that is why candidates pat kids on the head and kiss babies etc..to try and endear themsleves to the electorate..not label them with any terms etc.

I cannot vote for anyone associated with TFP anyway as most voters cannot, so it does not really matter to me how they run the campaign in their respective electorates...all I can do is wish them well.

Does anyone know what sort of swing is required in these electorates to dislodge the sitting members ???

As for patience required for 2nd Sept...I have all the patience in the world...just curious as to why any form of announcement was made at all..if there are legal arrangements to be made eg permits for demonstrations etc, and these fall through then it will look rather silly that an announcement was made at all.

Pinhead although you are entitled to your opinion as for the above comment Shane is actually attached to the Fishing party as and elected member the only reason for the independant is that Beattie Government call the election early before the party had time to get off the ground and registered for these elections

Secondly Shane is out there working for us Fisho's not to take the Crap. at least he is out there trying so far all i have heard from you is a whinge. try placing your intellegence to help the man in his endeavours to help us and the Fishing industry and Families
    ideas not useless remarks.

we are in a democratic society but helpful comments go a long way

    Re: Important Notice

I have yet to be convinced that my vote would be efffective if I aligned with a 'one issue' candidate. Much as I love fishing, boating and nature in general, I'd hate it if the person that I voted for was inept in other vitally important issues. Issues like the economy, fiscal policy, free trade agreements.

Bottom line is, you might save my fishing spot but you could screw up the state and the country. There has to be some sort of balance demonstrated by the prospective candidate to win me over. But that's just me.

Shane: patience or patients? Can you be an effective representative if your grammar, construction and syntax is less than ideal? Convince me and I'll vote for you....flatstrap
