Courier Mail--How green are they

After seeing the coverage of the protest convoy on the television news last night, I broke my own rule and bought a sunday mail today to see what they had to say.

Now maybe I need new glasses or maybe someone who read the whole thing from cover to cover might have found something.
I found not ONE mention. NOT ONE.

Maybe they should start using green coloured paper( recycled of course).

Note: I have not purchased a news limited pulication for about ten years. Ever since they and the mad frenchman tried to foster a mickey mouse rugby league competion on us.

Thanks for that observation Mowerman... I had the same - couldnt find a trace - Courier Mail will print every piece of tripe the Greens throw out... none of ours. I didnt know if they are pro Labor or Progreen - all I read is how Beattie is creaming everyone and how much they are going to win the election by. The minor parties (including TFPQ) barely get a mention... I'm sure they are putting stuff out there - I've seen it - but the dumb rag wont run with any of it.

And I did exactly the same thing. On my way to our family outing for father's day I stopped off at the local newsagent and got a Sunday Mail and thought I was going nuts because I couldn't find a thing in there. I am kind of relieved I wasn't the only one.

Thanks for reminding me.

I also bought the Sunday Mail and scanned it from front to back, not just once but twice.

Could not believe it as the rally made the TV news, caused a reaction from the AMCS.

Have been buying the Courier Mail now for many many years, if there is nothing about the rally in tomorrows i think i might just buy the Australian in the future.

Would almost have to be in support of the Greenies, perhaps this is how they get so much press?

OK, OK, OK....... I got caught too.

Out of bed early, quick look in the mirror and fixed the "pillow look" in my remaining hair, then off for a walk to the local store.

Buy myself the Sunday paper, get home make a coffee and sit down at the kitchen table to peacefully read about the protest convoy.

ANd bugger me, not a bloody mention!!!!!!!!!

Channel nine make the effort to go and get footage even with a high workload due to their coverage of Riverfire, Channel Seven out there as well.

At Clontarf we had the local press photographer taking photos and details....

So why no Courier Mail coverage?

How do we raise this with the Editor?

It stinks of bias!!!

When I did my 2 year stint in the U.K., the common belief was that the newspaper press could dictate an election by what it did and didn't print.

Is anybody out there a friend/relative of Rupert Murdoch?

It's now nothing more than a grubby little rag that prints their journalists' views instead of reporting the facts.

Absolutely nothing in yesterday's paper about the rally.

The newspapers definitely do influence elections..have a read of some of the antics of the late Sir Frank Packer and also Rupert's father..his name escapes me now. Those guys did not mess around with the pollies..the pollies jumped when they wanted something.

As you may have guessed there have been many professionally produced media releases going to the Courier mail and Sunday Mail. Both from MBAA and TFPQ

hi all in the Saturdays courier mail there was and article with the greens stating that they would place there preference wit the labour party in all seats through out qld so the deals have definately been done with labour sorry for the bad news but have not seen anyone else let you know.

The Gold Coast Bulliton had an article in it yesterday. It was mostly about the petition that is at Doug Burt's Tackle Shop but it did mention the protest convoy.

The gist of it was " Not us, we are the courier mail. I will pass it on"
