moreton bay rumors or myths

i heard from a takle shop owner who is actively involved in stopping the closure of moreton bay.
the moreton bay marine parks starts at caloundra and ends at southport and what they are proposing is, You can only fishin in waters that are 6 meters or deeper. Now guys is that a myth or the truth.

the extent of the park is about right it goes from the Pumicestone passage bar at Caloundra to the mouth of the nerang river AND EXTENDS OFFSHORE of Bribie, Moreton and the Stradbroke islands, well offshore.
As far as I am aware there have been no details leaked of exactly where they propose to close, just thay want 30-50%.
Now given how much water there is those offshore areas, they could close the entire inshore section of the park in entirity and it would just about be 50%.
