    cool heads required

Following on from the GBR shady deals,
Researchers are currently investigating the feasability of towing
icebergs, from NZ waters to the GBR, to aid in reducing extreme
water temperatures during the summer months.

From memory it was Dick Smith, who wanted to tow an iceberg to
Sydney back in the 70s, to supplement the water supply.

I wonder if Can Do Campbell and Mr Beattie would also like to tap into
    the supply.

Cheers Mick (perhaps a Furphy - water cart might be in order)

Anyone who used to read electonics magazines way back then such as Electronics Australia and Electronics Today would recall that Dick Smith demonstrated the epitome of gross headline seeking behaviour, inventing phrases like "The Electronic Dick" and advertisement headlines that always proclaimed that he was mad. (Not that bloody mad, mate! $$$$$$$$)

The iceberg thing was nothing more than a publicity stunt where he dressed up a barge as an iceberg.

That story of towing an iceberg was released (announced) on April 1st of whatever year it was (I forget the exact year).
