    Fraser fire wood

Hey guys, just wondering how do you go for firewood on Fraser Island?
Do you have to bring your own or buy it on the island?
Also are the sand flies all year round, a couple of mates and myself are heading to Fraser next week...

    Hey DazD,
Take your firewood with you if you can they were charging $20 for a wheet bag at rainbow beach 3 weeks ago. Bread $3.80/loaf, Fuel $1.24/ltr
Ice $4/bag, Pillies $16/slab,etc etc. So do what we did and took everything we needed with us and buy only if you run out.
    Tight lines <*)(((((((((><

Hey DazD, definitely take your own firewood. Sometimes at the official camp sites they have a pile of offcuts but they are mainly pine and don't last real long plus you can never depend on it.

As for sand flies, you should be OK until about the end of November or early December until about March (my experience only).

Going up that way myself in about 2 weeks time, 13 of us all together, we go up every year.

Mate enjoy yourself in the greatest spot in the world, have a safe trip and catch plenty of fish although it might be a bit crowded during school holidays.

Don't forget to throw a few bags of Heat Beads in the back of the 4X4. They make great coals for cooking on a campfire.

    Cheers
