    Bay Island Camping

Just wondering if you can tell me about places you can camp in the Jumpinpin Region.
Also are you able to camp on Peel Island at all?
My old man used to camp at Crusoe 10yrs ago .Is this still able to be done?

    Hi Adam.

Plenty of camping spots around the Pin area, some better than others.

You can camp on Crusoe - shelter is a bit of a problem though.

A better spot, although very popular is on Short Is (near the eastern entrance to Cobby Passage) where the big stand of trees is. It's very popular though, especially at this time of year.

I've seen quite a few camps on the banks of Whalley's Gutter too.

Another place is along the shoreline at Koureyabba - just back towards Russel Is from the Slipping Sands.

No matter where you go, make sure you have PLENTY of insect repellent - Bushmans is excellent - otherwise the sandflies and mozzies will eat you alive.

    Hope that helps.
