Just a quick hello as im relatively new to ausfish! Introduced to site by Landy1 and attended last M&G at Currigee.
Am planning on going to Tannum Sands (Near Gladstone)in first week in August. Staying at the Caravan park there right near the water. Will take the new digital camera with me to hopefully capture some fantastic moments and to post a few pics of my fishing exploits!
Have been there back in 1998. Anyone been up there more recently and have any updates on land based and 2wd accessible fishing locations? My other question is does anyone have a gun method of catching queenfish and salmon up in that area. Very new to those two species and any help would be appreciated.
Geez, sounds as though the place has become a bit more touristy since the last time i was there. Will endeavour to find a nice quiet spot to fish and relax. Info on web site was good. Hope to bring back some good pix and more info on the place cause i reckon its a bit underrated. Seems as though 1770 and Turkey beach are the destination for those of us who live in the bayside area and a bit of a change in holiday destination should be good.
Gypsea, It's been a while since I was there last but I remember Wild Cattle Creek being fairly shallow so beware when the tide starts to drop. We fished the creek and went through to Colluseum.
Sorry no info on Queenies or Salmon.
Good luck with the trip, looking forward to seeing pics of the trip.
