    Just for "Savagetin" - Sandcrab Crepes

    if your think eating crepes makes you a poof (not that there's anything wrong with that) call them pancakes.

    you need

    seafood
    crepes
    vegies (potato, carrot, peas)
    grated cheese (that "Perfect Italiano Pizza cheese works good)
    cream
    --------------------------------------------------------

    * preheat on oven to 200 C

    * get a bunch of crab meat any species or even prawn flesh finely sliced

    * peel & dice 1x carrot & 1x potato & put in boiling water with a handful of peas or sliced beans or little broccoli heads, something green y'know that'll make you big & strong.
    Boil for 4 mins only then strain well & let cool.

    * Make a bunch of crepes (just buy one of those "Greens" or "White Wings" pancake mix shakers & make it a touch thinner. Once cooked don't be concerned about keeping them warm - they can cool - its cool, cause ya gunna bake em.
    ----------------------------------------------------------

    * ASSEMBLY

    Get a oven proof dish with sides eg lasagne dish

    take a cool pancake - lay a line of crabmeat across the middle, then a small amount of veges & a sprinkle of cheese with some pepper, roll it up, put it in the lasagne dish with the seam at the bottom.

    make more & lay them in side by side in the dish

    sprinkle a small amount of cheese on top

    pour cream over the top (not too much but enough so it pools on the bottom) then bake for 15-20mins until it browns on top a bit - is easiest to serve if allowed to cool a bit. If you want to get real flash like that British dude spinkle some chopped parsley on top & do something with ya hair that makes it look like you just woke up .

    Chris,
    AKA Ausfish Celebrity Chef.
    Think it might be a good idea to tell them to chop the potato and carrot up at some stage.
    A good read though. Hah.
    Cheers

    If ya mix a little coconut cream and real cream together, some finely diced dill and shallots, (just a little) add a little to the vege mix and pour the rest over the top before baking it is delightful...

    Cheers,
    Rich.

    Chris

    I reckon I can do this in a camp oven. Keep an eye on Bush 'N Beach for a future article. Particularly like the idea of the ready mix pancakes although I wonder about the sugar content with the seafood.

    Brissyguy, I'm a big fan of Thai food so the coconut milk idea seems the way to go.

    Now wheres my bl--dy crab pots ............... nah bugger it, easier to go to Morgans.

    Cheers.
