G'day all. As we have two small dogs finding camping spots is not easy. Does anyone know good sites say from Noosa to Yamba with reasonable fishing & boat access that will allow two well behaved small dogs? - IT'S ALWAYS A PROBLEM - The boss won't go without them.
Get hold of a copy of the RACQ and NRMA Accommodation Guides. They list all recognised caravan parks and also if pets are welcome or not. You will be surprised how many caravan parks allow controlled dogs.
Dogs are not permitted in National Park Camp Grounds however are in some State Forests.
There are two good books to look at. Camping Guide to New South Wales put out by Boiling Billy Publications. This lists all National Parks, State Parks, Riverside Reserves, State Forests and Nature Reserves where you can camp. The other is Camping in Queensland published by the Qld Government. This lists National Parks, State Forests and Water Reserves where you can camp.
There are a number of private camping grounds as well although have never had a publication come my way that lists them.
I find searching the net will often bring up something and Google one of the better search engines. Just use a few words from what you are looking for.
I just came back from a couple of days camping at South Ballina Beach Holiday Park and outside of school holidays they allow dogs.
This park is great. The owners are friendly and its not a busy park.
They have been recently upgrading the park facilities and I would recommend it to anyone......
