Sun & Rain Shelter
I thought I would share this with you.
I made up my own heavy duty sun and rain shelter. The ones I have seen are too light weight or are just shade shelters.
I took a heavy duty 12ft x 12ft silver tarp. I use 6 adjustable 6ft poles on the sides ie. one in each corner and one in the centre of the 2 opposite sides. I use 2 adjustable 8ft poles to support a 3 piece ridge bar that spans 12ft. I use 4 corner ropes and 2 single ropes for the two side pole complete with springs and some decent pegs. The whole thing packs away in a heavy duty canvas bag.
The result is a very heavy duty shelter providing rain and sun protection. It will withstand any resaonable storm.
The ridge bar allows you to hang up lights towles etc. It cost about $100 all up. We spend most of our time under it.
I have attached a photo. It is not the best but I think you will get the idea.

Good one mate. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
Now all you need is another one to go over your leaky tent and you're set.

Gorilla
Was considering sleeping under it.
With a bit of luck and lots of seam sealer i think we have fixed the leaky tent situation.

That looks good flathead. I had something similar for years. As the kids got older it ended up being a 20 x 22 foot tarp with a million poles.
Worked well though.
