I got a Bedourie!!
Hiya all,
I GOT MY BEDOURIE CAMP OVEN TODAY!!!!
Bought off the website (thanks Derek ). Saved $7 buying direct as opposed to the camping shop down the street.
Will be getting some heat beads tomorrow and start practising!

Re: I got a Bedourie!!
Just to prove I used it (the oven doesn't work in our house so i can't cheat) I took photos. Just made a plain muffin mix and threw in some frozen blackberries. didn't brown much but were cooked and yummy!! Hope this pic works.

Did you have heat beeds on the top of your Oven as well as undernerith
If not maybe thats the reason the muffen didnot brown?

Don't forget to modify the lifting gear as they are dangerous left as they are.

Re: I got a Bedourie!!
I think I didn't put enough heat beads on top, will go extra next time. I cooked a leg of lamb the next day and it was good though(loaded with garlic yum!!).
How do you modify the lifting gear? I was just using oven mitts to lift the lid but if there is any easier way I'd love to know.
thanks in advance

Re: I got a Bedourie!!
Sorry I didn't answer sooner but I put some photo's of the modifications onto a free photo site and I have to keep activating it every couple of months to keep the link active. I included the photo's on a post in Jan.
All you have to do is just remove the existing lugs (dont remove the rivets) you only have to remove the old triangular wire by springing out as they are only butted together.
Get some 12g welding wire and fashion new lugs into a square section and fit them to the brackets.
Next step is to make the lifting handles bit 6mm rod and 2mm plate steel. If you get the sizes right the whole thing will fit back into the origional box.
You can see in one of the photo's the oven is being lifted with house brick on one side something that is impossible with the standard lifting gear. If you modify yours just set the bottom lug out a bit so it doesn't foul the rim on the lid, I didn't do this.
If you want any more info or photo's let me know.
This link should work for a month or two.
