I noticed a picture of a can of tinned peas next to Dereks cooking on the Bribie Island Thread.
What I would like to know is when cooking tinned peas on a campfire do you open the can and put them into the camp oven? How about opening the can and letting them sit on top of the fire?
What is the best approach here.
I am so sorry that I missed the Bribie Island trip last sunday. Family problems

I ususally buy cans with the rip pull tops and just open enough to break the seal. I sit them on the grill over the fire. The lid keeps out any ash and they are easier to open when hot rather then fumbling around with a can opener.
