Ford transit lwb > camper
I was thinking of purchasing a late 90's ford transit lwb high roof model with 2.5l td and converting it into a camper.
It will cost about $10,000 for to set it up with double bed, 2 way fridge, sink, external shower, hot water, tv, dvd etc. doing it myself.
Has any one done a fitout themselves?
Before I do this does any body have any feed back about these vehicles. What are good and bad points? What is fuel consumption towing 750kg boat and trailer?
Thanks

Re: Ford transit lwb > camper
I know that some of the late model ford transit vans have very weak gearboxes that dont even last the warrantee a bloke that has delivered some motorcycles to me drives one and he was telling me what a strain the vehicle had put on his employers buisness not sure what year model it was but is was about a year and a half ago he was telling me this and the vehicle was still under new vehicle warrantee hope this helps you.
