Caravan & Camping Show - Brisbane

    Hey Guys,

I'm a bit suprised nothing has made it in here already about this show but i've got my review of it.

    BLOODY GREAT!!!

There is lots of stuff on special. If you want a downunder ice box, this is the place to get it. They're cheap. Even the Tropical ones were rediculously cheap. Evacool wasn't as heavily reduced but still cheap.

Camping gear is selling like hot cakes and it seems reasonably priced. And you can haggle with the staff to. I managed to get a swag for a few bucks off and a pole kit thrown in for free (saving $70).

I also picked up a subscription to 4WD Monthly for $199 for 24 issues with a free Leatherman knife, Staun Tyre deflators, 4WD Monthly DVD, 4WD Monthly Video, $20 TJM voucher, 3 Gold editions magazines.

There are some great camper trailers there from the basic models starting at say $5500, all the way up to the Kimberly Kampers that will see you parting company with $38,000.

Caravans are everywhere you turn and tend to all look like big white boxes on wheels after a couple of hours. I'm sure if you were in the market for one they'd look different.

4WD Accessories weren't THAT heavily reduced, and there weren't that many there but bargains could be had if you went looking.

The worst part of the show is seeing something, then having to walk a mile to compare prices only to have to walk back again. Parking is the proverbial Poo fight as well. Expect to walk a mile.

Overall though its one of the better shows i've been to in terms of specials and deals. Well worth the $10 entry for an adult.

Well i felt the show was great, i was in the buying mood and got some great deals to say the least. As with everyone i spoke to i would return on the Monday. As it woiuld happen fate fell apon me and that was buggered.

So will have to call as many indicated they would hold specials open for me a week.

I agree with a great show i enjoyed it but time killed me, to say there where many GREAT specials would be an understatement.

I had full intentions retuning as i said above, with full pockets of cash to buy.

Unlike the fishing show this had REAL specials and i will return next year thats for sure.

I didn't go this year but I have found the opposite apply in that the prices at the show were dearer than buying externally. I admit there are bargains but you have to know your prices and the sellers know that many people think that they get a bargain when in reality it isn't true.
The best thing about these shows is that everything in under one roof and if you make good use of your digital camera you can get photo's of good ideas to use.
