    Re: DI Point 17-19 March

The beach was a mess with all the sludge on it.
Was like driving through mud and it stuck to the vehicle like ???? to a blanket,.
Cars that were going through the Car Spa still had it stuck to the under body and the high pressure hose was needed to get it of.

Fishing was not to good, and the Blue Bottles were in plague proportions on the run in, with the run out you could go in the water.
Rainbow rocks were un passable with the Freshwater track your only option and as for going over the Leisha track it was and free for all as they were going up the down track and once on the boards you think you were Ok but then 20m in down you went with no warning and all the big name vehicles were coming un stuck and un able to get out with out a tow, so if you intend to cross over to Rainbow don't back off till you are well up the track.

Rangers have removed a big section of boards from the track and once over the other side the sand is SOFT with not a lot of beach.

Driving at High Tide was possible due to the tide in the past as the sand was firm all the way to the dunes. ( as Pic shows.)

Freshwater Track was and will be very cut up and should not be long before we see a bad head on accident there with 70% off vehicles going up the wrong way at full speed, the rangers say the Freshwater Track is OK but it is getting a lot of traffic through it and there are a few soft spots, but if you get stuck someone will get you out as there is no where else to go.

Bought my self a set of tyre Deflates and they are Bloody great, I have 2 at 15psi and 2 at 25psi. ($ 75 a set )

Car Spa is being upgraded in the next 6 months with the was down area as you come through the booth being moved away to the back and a caravan wash down area being installed down the side and 1 new booths with the old ones being upgraded to allow the vehicle to stop and the water will move under the vehicle giving a better wash
    .
This is great news as you can spend so much time waiting for vehicles to move so you can exit the booth.

From Easter the rangers will not be issuing permits on the beach, BUT every day will be doing random checks, if you don't have a permit then you
    ......1) may get a fine $75????
....2) told to get one by a certain time
.....3) Take your detail and will be told to get one on the way home,
and if you fail to get it and there you will get an infringement notice
in the mail with a fine.
Note this is just what I was told by a Ranger and are what is being discussed at the moment with nothing set in cement yet.

Booking on line is the best thing that they have ever done as you can see how many are going and how many sits are left.

Never asked about the Zones as someone once said they were going to bring in, so if someone has info on this may like to post it up.

Derrick may have more to say on that.
