A mate of mine has a 3 way primus, Thats if it's the same one , and he thinks it's great no probs at all. He's a shearer so it's treated pretty tuff. He has had it for 8-9 months now. As for comparison to the chescold sorry can't help you there.
30 odd litre model? If so it isn't a freezer, only a fridge. I have one for when we are parked in the same place for a while, and so far no worries. Price is certainly right, but don't expect miracles either.

Primus have a three way fridge call a "zero". They are larger models than the chestcolds. They work on the same technology as the chestcolds ... just make sure that they are level and remember that in very hot conditions they do not work as well the compressor... but lets see a compressor model work for ten days without full sun @ a non powered camp..
