Mt Mitchell 14-07-06
Did a trip up Mt Mitchell yesterday, which is the southern peak of Cunningham's Gap. The northern peak (as seen in some of the pics) is Mt Cordeaux. The Mt Mitchell trip is 10.2km return and provides some great scenery. Unfortunately the haze yesterday didn't help very much, and hindered the photos substantially. The track to the summit ends at a knife edge about 5m wide between the two peaks, running for about 30-50m. Either side of the summit is a vertical drop which to say the least is outright terrifying if you're scared of heights as I am.
Cheers

Re: Mt Mitchell 14-07-06
Looking down on Cunningham Highway from the summit. One step forward from where this photo was taken is an 800ft drop over the cliff face

Re: Mt Mitchell 14-07-06
Mt Mitchell from the highway. That peak above the cliff face is the summit.
