    Re: Dog friendly camp grounds?

thanks everyone. tried to go to amamoor state forest (apparently the only state forest that allows dogs) on the weekend but upon arrival anything resembling a good campsite was peg out and had a token cheap charlie tent reserving the spot. i asked a few of the legit campers what was going on to be told that people had reseved these spots for the country music festival and that some of those legit campers had been there since May. looked like a nice camp but wouldn't bother going there until well after the music muster and a lot of rain to the creek going again. cut our loses and went to island reach camping ground and my wife and i were very glad we did and most certainly will go back there again.

so far have taken the dogs to: (in order of favouritism)

    1. Flinders Beach
    equal 2. Neurum Creek
    2. Island Reach, Imbil
    and last by long way
    4. Amamoor

looking forward to trying Flanagans reserve and Inskip Point

    Cheers

    Still Dreamin

Can still take dogs to many of the State Forest campgrounds, but not all. Try Glastonbury Ck and Cedar Grove west of Gympie, another option is to trawl through the National Parks website.

Bum steer there no dogs at Cedar Grove (misread the NP website), Amamoor Ck is what it said.
