    oztrail tents

    Hiya fellas

We're looking to buy a new family size tent for me and my wife and at this stage one small kiddy ... I saw an earlier post on Sportivas and they got a good wrap but ... I was wondering if someone could help me with what the difference is between the Sportivas and the normal Oztrails

We were at Camping World looking at the Oztrail Chalet Six at the weekend and the biggest difference I could see between it and the Sportivas was that the Sportivas packed down bigger.

Are they basically the same thing or is the Sportiva a better quality tent?

    Cheers

The difference is in head room and structual make up

Have recently purchased a Geo dome (sportiva) it has 7 fibreglass poles as against the oztrail of the same size with 4.

Been through a short storm and a good westerly with no drama yet ????

We have a double dome Sportiva - a 10-12 man of theraabouts (in their Sardine Theory using 5 foot migets). So seriously its been a great tent for about 6 years or so and never gives problems. Its airy and has pockets all over the shop to stow things. Never had a zipper problem etc.

I purchased a sportiva bungalow and are far from happy with it. It leaked like a sive on its first outing, through the zips and seams. Two zippers broke, one pole broke. I have used domies ll my life so very familiar with erecting them but even over a six week camping trip, i could never get it all to line up.
I chattede to a few people over the days in the caravan park who had the same tent i all have had similiar problems.
It may be just this model of tent though as many other people who have sportiva tents, diff model though are happy.
