Well if it sold, then that should be good news.
Hope that it also sees an improvement.
The place needs to properly set out with sites marked. The facilities all need a bit of updating.
Will be looking forward to more reports.
Hope to utilise again myself, but would like to see some updates first.

Just a few days back, I also heard a whisper which included the word 'sold'!
Johnny
Sold!!
Good, Hope that means goodbye mr GRUMPY!!!
Regards, Tony
its been sold to a consortium who will be putting a manager in to run the place . at least grumpy will go . hubby
Sounding good, will wait and see what happens.
The potential is fantastic it just takes a managment to realise what they have. Fisherman will go elsewhere if it did not improve.
Switched my trip in October to Monduran

Awoonga Bush Camp,
Regarding the bush camp, can anyone tell me roughly how big it is and how many can stay there. Im from NSW and afew mates and my self are keen for some action in december is there a chance it will be full or is it big enough to handle a fair crew.
Cheers shayne.
First time user so not sure how this works. Heading to Awoonga Dam in Oct - Nov and wondered it anyone had a good tips for the Dam, am staying at the Caravan Park but have confirmed my booking a few times after reading reports on this site.
Lots of posts on Barra Fishing and Awoonga and all the other impoundments under Freshwater fishing.
The main things is making sure that you have rods and reels and line and lures to handle large fish over metre.
That includes landing nets, measuring mats etc.
5kg plus rods and reels that will handle braid line between 30lb to 50lb. 30lb will catch u fish, but a few bust offs and only trolling.
60LB to 80lb leaders and common lures for awoonga are 3 to 5 metres viper predatek, Halco crazy deeps, Barra bait etc.
Upgrading hooks and trebles will also be helpful.
Like I said there are lots of threads with info on Awoonga.
Just put in search for barra and Awoonga, should get all the info that you want.
Enjoy your fishing,

Wild horses coudn't drag me to that caravan park!
Besides, why pay a fortune just for the previlage of a cold shower and sardine tin arrangement.
Who knows, you might just be lucky to get put on the side of the road, outside of the main camping ground.
Buy a solar hotwater shower for $12 out of any camping store and head to the Bush Camp in the Boyne Valley. (SEE MUD MAP on page 1). IT"S FREE FREE FREE FREE
Limit of stay, 7 days.
