    Tinaroo Dam Pics

Just returned from a visit to Tinaroo Dam. It's a great place to visit and the camp sites are great but watch out for the march fly's this time of year.

Didn't get to do any fishing unfortunately but the camping was terrific.

Also visited Fairburn Dam which would have to rate as one of the most scenic dams in QLD and a good place to camp and fish on your way up the inland route to Cairns.

Sorry Dave i don't have any pics of Fairbairn as my batteries ran flat, and that's a shame because it really is a spectacular Dam and the camping area is clean and very well run excepting for a lack of grassed tent sites.

We thought that being outside school holidays that we would have the place to ourselves, but forgot about the mining fraternity which rule the roost out there.

Tinaroo on the other hand is reasonably quiet with lots of secluded camping sites tucked away, but most of them have to be pre-booked at epa.qld.gov.au.

    Terry.
