    Anchor Rope

I haven't had to buy anchor rope in a long time but am in need of some now and having a look online and there seems to be a lot of braided ropes advertised for drum winches etc.

Now I don't have a winch but I want to know is this stuff any good for normal anchoring using a float to retrieve or am I better off sticking to the old school twisted style anchor ropes?

    Cheers

You are better off with good old 3-strand, soft lay, like Silver rope, for the reasons of being able to grip it, and abrasion resistance.
