GME Double Swivel Rectangular Antenna Base - Repair

Hi Guys

My GME antenna swivel base has gotten loose to the point where you cant tighten it up.

The handle just spins around (the upper longer handle).

Replacing it would be a pain for me so would prefer to repair the loose connection ... but cant see how to get into it.

Has anyone fixed this before ?

I'm pretty sure you pop off the cover where it says gme and there's a nut and bolt you can tighten up.

Thanks Marto ... yeah I hacked away at what I sort of remembered a a removable "plug" under the GME name .... but it wouldn't budge. I'll have another crack at it ...

Keep trying, thats where it is.

Try spraying some silicone (not wd40 or similar)around that plug and into the little slot to the left and let it sit overnight. Then lever a thin slotted screw driver in the slot, it should just pop off.

Sometimes if stubborn I'll pour boiling water over it all before and after applying the silicone spray.

Yep, got it off. Mangled the cap a bit ... but got there in the end. Tightened up the nut in there ... hopefully will do the trick.
