Best methods to catch live bait without using cast net?

A lot of baitfish in rocky areas where i fish. Have destroyed 2 cast nets (8 foot) in the past 3 months. Keeping the net off the bottom is difficult.
Is there another productive way to catch livies besides a cast net?
Or would a smaller cast net work better to keep off the bottom?

Bait chaser jigs if they are not mullet you are after.

Yer look for a better spot to cast your net or use store bought bait or use a float and small hooks with a price of prawn or doe.

I've got a small 6' cheap net for throwing in the mouths of gutters that may have a pot or snag in them, still sux when it gets damaged, but I tend to 'dodgy' a repair on it when it does happen and replace when it's too far gone. Multistrand nets are too expensive to risk in rough ground.
