Many reef species bred / nurture in the estuary systems.

The problem with Queensland's fishery is the management and the tools ( or lack thereof ) provided to them to manage the fishery.

It is hard to explain, but I'll try.

The simplest example is a Doctor putting a band-aid on a cancerous tumor, because his surgery is governed by financial restraints and the landlord who is in cohorts with the practice manager, would rather spend huge dollars on fancy artwork for the walls.

Sounds cryptic I know, but it fits.

If you are trying to manage anything and are given only limited options, you cannot manage it in a financial and sustainable way. You need ALL tools available. Fisheries Queensland are hamstrung by financial restraints and political interference.

In many countries around the world, their fisheries have been brought back from the brink of collapse due to implementing an all encompassing management system, free from financial and political constraints.

The folks that derive their lively hood from the oceans and the folks that spend many hours out are the ones that know what's doing and for the most part, know how to fix it. Those people speak to deaf ears here in Queensland.

It only makes sense if Australia bans importing fish then. What, so we have a flourishing fish stocks while china and asia rape the seas to feed us fish?
Look at the bigger picture hete folks.
Decimating a countries economy is the easiest way to take it over.
Imagine the destruction of MANY small buisnesses if we stop fishing.
Next is beef and sheep because they fart too much.
What will we do when there are no more insects to eat? Which by the way are not compatible with our digestive system.
We allow super trawlers to rape our seas but stop average joe from catching a feed.
Give me a break, wake up to the agenda.
Maybe we should disallow the technology to catch more fish?
    I wonder why?
    Big corporations.........
If we don't go fishing we won't need to complain about 15min cities will we.
