Following with interest. I nearly did, but couldn't convince myself after doing a bit of looking around sites and forums.

You really need a marine surveyor to check the hull....plenty of crap flashy looking boats coming in...big brand names too.

I actually imported 1 in 2018. A noble copy 6.85. For the price i paid it' is cheap. Have done over 700 hours on the boat and mostly in ruff conditions.
With the Australian $$ so low now. The price is getting up there

I think Disorderly has one. He was quite open about it at the time. He copped a bit of flack but from what he posts he seems to be out using it as intended.

A short 4 part series on importing from china, Although a much larger boat it was still very interesting. Best would be to get a bare hull and then do the fittout over here,

Yeah mate..I didnt enjoy the process of dealing with the Chinese and the trailer was pretty crap and needed quite a bit of work including making up a roller ladder to not damage the hull but the boat has been solid and being a supervee it rides like a magic carpet in the slop offshore...

Best to buy from a company that has a proven history and bare hull is best to do the fitout over here ...(though there is plenty of dodgy people working in the industry here as well and some variable quality boats built, particularly during Covid...).....

and spend some decent money on a really well built and set-up trailer..

Its been getting us out and back safely and comfortably now for 4 years now for day trips around the local mission Beach islands and 2-3 day reef trips and Hinchinbrook adventures....
