Strykers have a very generic chart without depth readings etc, you also can not upload marks to them via SD card....at least not the version stryker I had.
They are a remarkably good sounder for the money though if you do not need full marine charts.
I would opt for the 7" SV over a CV to have the side view option.
I ran mine nearly always on side view.
