Wondering about the feasibility of using an inflatable boat for a round-the-world expedition..

    Just asking for a friend.

Yer just saw the professer on the news hes said the sharks were just hungery the hull was double layered he said , well not good enough for our skarks it was a long swim to Cairns if they did not get rescued but i dont think the sharks would have been hungery any more.

These cookie-cutters sound like evil little suckers..Last attack they took a chunk out of a kid on Maggie island in 2017...

Apparently it was the 2nd inflatable boat they were using as the first one was also attcked by sharks a couple of months back...

They sound like the Piranha of the sea..

You would have given you after the first I find it odd for them to jut attack the hulls I don’t think the Kontiki raft had that problem .

Cookie cutter sharks are the bane of large gamefish. The just dive in, attach their circular mouths to their sides, and take a round chunk out. I've caught marlin with the wounds--they heal, but it must hurt like hell. If you have a look at Eddie Lawler's ( Peak Sportfishing ) video on his grander Blue, you can see such a wound in a couple of shots. Such wounds on gamefish do not disqualify them under IGFA rules the way a regular shark attack does. The rubbery pontoons of an inflatable might just look like the flanks of big billfish.

Once bitten twice shy, would be sensible option one would think, but no.

So who's paying for the rescue services to rescue these muppets ??

They should be invoiced for stupidity. No problem rescuing proper sailors, but these guys are just taking the piss !
