Can I change the font on a Lowrance sounder

I have a Lowrance HDS7 Live sounder mainly to operate the Motorguide as I can't see the lights on the motor or clearly hear the tones (why wont they make a remote with a screen). The problem I have is the bloody font when in chart mode, it is this weird small orange font with an outline and is bloody hard to read at the best of times, it has an option to change the size only from NORMAL to SMALL, you need a microscope to read it in the SMALL mode. I can use my Garmin but I tend to use it as a sounder. Does anyone know if the font can be changed, I've looked online but nothing seems to popup.

The other issue I have is when I use the Lowrance to spot lock the Motorguide and select at Waypoint I have scroll through dozens of WP's to find the one I am looking for as in the Trolling Motors function there doesn't seem to be a find/search by name facility.

Have I told you I hate Lowrance?

That sounds like a call to lowrance and a simple update fix well you would think but a simple fix could take years to apply as comonsence.

And im not counting how many times you have said you hate lowrance but im thinking its a love hate thing.

Lowrance weren't interested re the font or the scrolling issue and it is definitely a hate thing but it's a tool I need to use. The Motorguide unit works really well once I get it working correctly, I'm amazed at how it can turn my boat around in fairly choppy seas yesterday and held to a WP although I find I do need to recalibrate the GPS on it if I fish more than 10-15 km from my last trip.
I have just received a youtube that saves me scrolling, and the font thing seems rather odd as I don't recall it looking like that. I'll probably go for a complete reset.

Yer the menu on the lowrance was the thing that put me off on them theres just too much on the sounders now and if your not using it all the time well im still carry a photo copy of the manual for my raymarine element.

Lowrance do have a fairly good manual but like most of them only gives button descriptions,problem is they're written by people who understand the functions well but if you're like me it needs a bit more explanation around it.

Thanks, I've looked through a couple by a guy called Barry Stokes that has given me a heads up on the Trolling Motor function but the change in font still has me screwed as I don't recall it looking the way it is and certainly on any of the ya-ya tube videos it doesn't look the same. I'll keep searching.

All sorted, went through the restore options and the second time it came good. No idea why it went the way it did before

A simple cure would be to change the lettering, not the font. To something like Simrad or Raymarine....
