    Question Navionics Inconsistency

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on the inconsistency I've found with Navionics charts in deep water. I currently have the Navionics Boating app on my phone and also have a Navionics Platinum card in my Lowrance HDS in the boat.

Both charts (on my phone and boat) seem very accurate and very similar up until somewhere around the 150m mark. But from here out, the Navionics app seems to show that the depth (contour lines) are significantly deeper than shown on my Lowrance unit. I've really only just started fishing the bottom at depths past this and without much experience or success. The Navionics app shows the depth to be about double the depth shown on the Lowrance.

    Does anyone know why?
Does anyone know which is correct?

I'm still trying to get my sounder settings worked out to confirm using it but even without a bottom reading, I should be able to know depth based on the charts!

Looking forward to seeing if anyone else has noticed the same inconsistency.

    Thanks
    Joffo

    Re: Navionics Inconsistency

To be honest the navionics app charts are not close the level of detail on the card.
Trust the card and ditch the app.
You can get updates for the card at any time FOC as long as your subscription is current.
    Jack.
