If you are bait fishing a 4000 stradic or 4500 baitrunner is all you will ever need for snapper...they don't put up much of a fight.
Again if bait fishing almost any 5-8kg rod will do.
If you are wanting to fish plastics drop down to a 2500 stradic on a 4-7kg graphite rod about 2.1m long. There are hundreds of them on the shelves, select one that feels nice and not too beefy....you are looking for sensitivity. I do not pay more than $150 for any rod and there is a big selection to choose from.
