    Plate boat painting recommendations Townsville/NQ

I’ll need to get a newly built 7.5m plate boat painted early next year. I’ve googled the local companies, does anyone have first hand experience or recommendations for a top quality paint job somewhere in NQ?

The biggest regret I have with getting my platey built was getting it painted...it does look great for a few years though...

But its such a pain in arse having to worry about scratching it and no matter how well you try and duralac and tefgell it I always must miss it a bit or a stainless screw must bite into the actual aluminium and buubling occurs...

Anchors, spearguns, scubatanks, eskies in and out, sinkers on gunnels and the sides, missed gaffshots up the side...all these and more just grate on me when I wouldnt even think twice or worry about it if it were unpainted...

I would do something like this if i had it over again...

That's a Sam Preston special. I wish I could have had that option 8 years ago. Agree with Disorderly, paintwork does detiorate over time despite best efforts.
