    Daiwa TD Black Baitcast Rods

Looking for some experience and views on the Daiwa TD Black baitcast rods, particularly the 5'6" to 6'6", 4 - 8 kg, 1 piece range of rods, about functionality, performance and quality. Any comparisons with similar rods in the same price bracket would be helpful - amazed at how few "unsponsored" reviews there are on-line.

Neddey i recently looked at a lot of bait caster in that rating and found a lot were not worthy as the guide were small don't look at any NS amped rods there guides are to small,i got a Samaki archer just because the guides were bigger and it fishes ok for $200 rod i got a 10to17 7f for a spare rod so the smaller 6ft should be ok ,there's a 6'4 cranky in the black range and the have the braid x blanks but have never fished or held one to comment.

For $200 you cant really expect that much out of a rod .......

    I've got the next step up from the TD black - A Zillion 661MXB - 6'6" 8-17lb (sub $300)

Its based on the same blank (X45 SVF) - Uses the same guides - but the winch & grip configuration is better . (not a fan of the Black grip arrangement)

Yeh the guides are small which suits a fine lightweight blank ...... & it is light & crisp.

This rod gets used for jacks & barra ..... it does a really good job. I usually use this for throwing smaller jerk baits - but no issues throwing a 115 Squirrel

If you like the design of the TD Black .... it should do the job for you.

Personally - I'd look at all options in the $200-$250 range though . Find the rod that matches / feels best with your chosen reel

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Thanks to both of you and will follow up on the Archer and the Zillion, another question, again about the TD Black baitcasters around the 6ft size, what are the differences between the V1, pre 2020 I think and the V2 current model - this question probably applies to many Daiwa blanks?
