    JBS Plate Boat

    Hey everyone,

Just putting it out there if anyone has any experience with JBS cab boats. Looking at one to buy soon and was just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with them in how they ride etc. It’s 6m with a 150 on it. I am wanting something for offshore work but want to stay around that 6m in length for storage and towing.

    Cheers

Gday Sharky, I don’t have any experience on the 6m but quite a bit with the 6.5m. A mate had one for about 7 years. It had a 200 Suzuki and it was without a doubt the hardest riding hull I have ever been on. His crew would regularly come home with serious bruises and he didn’t drive it hard. It was a centre cab boat. Be very careful with the purchase. I would definitely try it in conditions other than dead flat.

    Cheers

Had a mate with a 5.5(ish) and 90(ish0 ob on back. This boat had a fine entry formed into the forefoot and rode moreton bay chop quite good ( for a tinnie)
I would do what Lee suggests, I think big hp would be a bastard on these hulls.
150 would be getting up there.Take it for a run into a decent chop ,you will soon work out the ride. cheers
