I bit extreme, but I know exactly how he feels, sometimes people just "snap" and do things we all say we should do......

The trouble is - if you damage that persons car ( towing a car in park ) & you are identified . ..... You would be in all kinds of shit with the law.

Yep as frustrating it is - you can't take things into your own hands.

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

yep agree, but, if the guy taking the movie was smart, he would make sure no number plates were visible.

What if a person with a different mindset took the video .&handed the details over to the towed vehicles owner (or police)

Let me put another scenario to you ......... what if that car had broken down ? What would you do if someone did that to your car ?

The trouble is that you dont know the situation .

    Let me share this .....
When I was at Mondy recently a bloke launched a jet ski - then parked his car immediately to the left of the boat ramp ........ I'm thinking " typical arrogant jet skier " & suggested to him politely not to park there . The bloke fired back at me ...... "the jetski broke down after launching and his missus was drifting off into the main basin & he didn't want to block the ramp itself ". Now didn't I feel like a tool ! - we launched & retrieved his jetski / missus

    Sometimes you just dont know

    Chris
and thats a large part of the problem of society's ills these days.....

Along the same lines look at the youth crime crisis in many places..there is very little accountability or punishment for the disrespect, damage or theft of peoples property or home and the victims can get into all sorts of legal strife if the perpetrator is injured while your property, home or life is being protected....

Its like we are expected to just shut up and eat shit because if we confront injustice and the criminals person or vehicle gets hurt then we are the bad guy in the eyes of the law... ..

Good on you for helping old mate out Chris but dont feel stupid for actually first clarifying why he parked where he did....that case was genuine and different but many times its just purely lazy and selfish clowns who think they are more important then the rest that do the right thing...

    Re: Bloody Tourists..

If he had broken down and couldn’t help it (I highly doubt it). He can blame the rest of the tools that had done the same thing to cause this guy to snap. There should be council laws that allow the local towy to be called and a car impounded. Put the number on a sign in the car park and let them retrieve their car from the local impoundment at a significant cost.
Democracy: Simply a system that allows the 51% to steal from the other 49%.

Well it’s made the news tonight so everyone will get a rude reminder on boat ramp parking rules and extra mates taking up a trailer car park when there doing a overnighter.

    Re: Bloody Tourists..

The news article last night showed the bit that was missing from Dis's link where he had parked in a car and trailer. The cops have not at this stage received any complaints from the vehicles owner or anybody else.
Reporting these vehicles to the police or council usually has little effect as the council won't employ anybody on the weekend in particular to attend and the police resources are stretched low.
One of the sad signs of our times is that we have demonized those who produce, subsidized those who refuse to produce and canonized those who complain.

*APPARENTLY*, a ribbon fish accidentally getting wedged above a bash plate can result in inconsiderate drivers getting a daily reminder that boat trailer parking spaces are not for cars without trailers.
