    Great Sandy Straits Prawns

    G’day all,
    newby to the Straits been a year now and looking for any info on prawning.
    Tides, wind, dawn,dusk.
    Any insights would be appreciated.

    Deep holes in the feeder creeks on the bottom half of the tide would be your best bet.
    Come mid January they will be more in the straits.
    Rain flushes will concentrate them in the straits.
    Tides wind and times don't really matter, just be one of the first boats to find the school.

    Kings prawns will be on the move around the bar but only small one and some salt an pepper banana prawns should be around with this heat around the creeks, look out for them skipping on the surface.

    Would have been heaps of banana prawns around of late especially up around Burrum.
