I love to eat garfish, and I am now busy with three young grandsons who love fishing. I'd like to chase some garfish with them. Can any keen garfishers living in or near Brisbane offer some suggestions as to where to head to catch a few? Thanks in advance.

Reason: Typo
No idea about Brisbane but.....if you are talking about Ocean Garfish, then summer time, in a sheltered bay, some bread burley, a tiny hook with a bit of peeled Prawn under a float should see you get plenty. If talking about River Garfish (different species, but great eating) then a similar approach, but, look for a big sandflat with about 2' of water on it and try there first. Mullet might be an issue in enclosed waters.
Wivenhoe Dam. Up from Heymans Inlet on a calm and wind free day.
There is a cliff face just as the dam proper becomes the river. Find a recipe for dough and a light pencil float.
Grand daughter and I caught a bucket full before the rain last week.
Good luck
North pine dam in summer .Bullockys rest find spot out of wind burley with bread crumbs small hook under float. worm or dough for bait. Plenty of snub nosed gar. Nice picnic spot with amenities.
I like eating gar too but are the fresh water gar like the salt water ones for flavour because a foot long snub nose gar is better eating than a summer whitening.
