Anyone onboard use one of these before ??, they hold on okay save drilling back of Tinny ??.
Wouldnt mind knowing the Glue they use make it stick see if its ay cheaper making one up..
Thinking of a New unit and didt reallyu want to drill holes on the other side of the stern for the Transducer and spied these on one of the Yayatube Vids and the looked like they might be worthy of using ??..

l would not trust anything that sticks on the transom to hold any sort of weight.

A mate has one on his 6.4m glass boat, and uses one of the long lowrance transducers. Holding well after 50 odd hours!

If you come up with something yourself & use a marine adhesive - just make sure you use something that is UV stabilized ..... bread board isn't . That white board that is used on transoms works .

A couple of tips - which have worked for me on two boats & have held both the long side imaging & the skimmer transducers

    1) Rough up the side that is to be glued
    2) Drill a few holes into the board to allow the adhesive to enter .

Yeah I'd definitely give that a go, 3m adhesive is about the best you can get.

    I think I paid about $25 for a 40x40cm piece (10mm)

You can stick / screw & stick 2 pieces together if you cant get 20mm board

Recommend to use an epoxy adhesive. Also to flame treat the starboard and cut grooves into it.

Epoxy adhesive: look up techniglue h60 I think. The recommended adhesive to have the best chance of adhering starboard to Fibreglass or ally hull’s.

Flame treat : use a blow torch to flame the back of the starboard first- helps with adhesion, learnt this from research on tht. Have used the same method on my boat and all great so far. I also cut groves and drilled holes for the adhesive to bite into.
