How is your vinyl wrap holding up?

Gday guys, now that the wraps have been around for a few years, I am interested to know how they are holding up? I am considering wrapping a boat in place of paint. My current boat is coming up 8 years old and the paint is still reasonable so trying to compare that to wrapping.

    Cheers

Mine has been on for 3 years and was still looking brand new Attachment 126080Attachment 126081
I have sold that boat and getting a new boat built and instead of getting a tinted gelcoat for 2k extra I will be getting a wrap done for 2.5K
PS there was a few marks from billfish at the back but only minor scratches

I think a vinyl wrap is a pretty good option these days - I'd certainly consider going that way if I was to buy a new boat that was painted .

It's surprisingly good protection for 5 or so years - a lot cheaper than re painting a boat .

Ultimately though aside from the aesthetics it probably boils down to how you use your boat ......

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

    Thanks guys.
Nagg, I use it by purely for fishing but the one stipulation from the wife is that it will not be raw aluminium so with free rein for everything else, it is the least I can do[emoji2]

I remember that was a stipulation on your current boat, I thought you might have convinced her by now.l

So the difference between a standard white gel coat and a different colour is 2k?

No Sam, she doesn’t like the look of any boats really and says she doesn’t want to be looking at an eyesore out the back[emoji15]

Sounds more like 0.5k, I think the $2k extra is on a bare hull.

i read it as. 2k extra for a tinted gel coat over white and 2.5k for a full wrap.
