Are the pics working now? Made them smaller.

btw I would like to be able to monitor the batteries from home. I have installed a 4G router so internet is there. Will I need global link or is there another way to see bluetooth devices online?

Working now, thanks. When are we going fishing?
One of the sad signs of our times is that we have demonized those who produce, subsidized those who refuse to produce and canonized those who complain.

I think from here you will have to either buy the Victron Cerbo GX ($500) which is the device that will pair all your devices like the Victron DCDC and MPPT. There is a way of doing that much cheaper using the Rasberry Pi device ($130) but it is a little bit complicated to set up. You’ll be able to Monitor your battery status and read and errors that the BMS puts out but won’t be able to change the setting on the BMS remotely. You’ll be able to change the Victron settings remotely though.

once set up you’ll be able to see the lot remotely through your own Victron VRM page.

Wow the boat has come up a real treat...Those new clears certainly tidy her up dont they..

Do you have some more pics of the flybridge, saloon and cockpit areas just to drool over ..

Also how do you think those Victron chargers will go..

Mine has a steel casing so I am assuming its not marinized

I also remove mine on daytrips where extra solar isnt needed so its had bugga all sea or salt air time but still there is rust bubbling from under the paint all over the external case...strange they didnt use aluminium...I wonder what it means for the internals as well..it was certainly not a cheap unit..

Haha anytime you are in the yeppoon area give me a yell. Plenty of spots within couple of hrs cruise and I am pretty much a man of leisure nowadays

Steel casing seems odd considering the environment most are subject to. The chargers I have are all pretty much plastic casing and anodised alloy heatsinks so I am guessing they are reasonably corrosion resistant. Also they are under the lounge in the saloon so I don't think they are going to see too much of the elements. The solar controller is behind the switchboard so even more protected.

Mostly I have been taking pics of work in progress so messy. Will take some tidy pics tomorrow haha.

Thks Lovey, I was guessing it would be a bit complex (or expensive haha). I would probably have to buy a Victron MPPT as well to make the most of it, as boat has a renogy atm. I am on a budget, hence the batteries ($4000 for "cheapy" batteries still makes me feel conflicted) so probly will put that off til later.

are you able to change the settings on the Giant BMS? I think in most cases you can only change the BMS settings within Bluetooth range unless you buy the Victron batteries and or a battery with one of the few BMS’ that have very high end features and are mostly redundant once you have your BMS settings right anyway.

The VRM feature is really good and gives you most of the info you’ll need. You’ll know if you have any issues without having to be near the boat. But a Victron Smart Shunt is a must IMO. Probably the most important bit of kit overall. Followed by the DC-DC and MPPTs

The batteries supposedly have Daly BMS, they also came with a BM21 500A bluetooth battery monitor, looks like a bit of a knock off of the Victron . Attachment 126464
