These Fish grow up to near ten kilometres yet doubt they get anywhere that size here ???.
Any known reason why ??. Mindyou 12lbers were common when I was a youngster Wollongong way.

They get bloody big. 10kg wouldn’t even be the max I don’t think.

I know those WA ones get pretty big - I saw a photo of one that was 100cm ... not quite the 12km ones but pretty bloody big .
I've landed ones up to about 70cm south of Sydney & at Port Stephens - i thought those were big . For me though they seem to be a rarity these days with just the odd fish caught in the washes around islands .
A few years ago I saw the wastage by the pros on the inside of Fraser Is ....... hundreds of dead tailor up towards Wathumba
