    Re: NSW compliance plates

Licensing is always fun. I moved to WA as the holder of a SA Boat Operator's Licence and was advised that I needed to transfer it to a WA licence within six months of taking up permanent residency.

One issue: the WA licence is a 'Skipper's Ticket' and SA legislation only recognises "interstate boat licenses" ... so I was told by Service SA that I wouldn't be able to use a WA Skipper's Ticket when I visit SA as it's a "ticket" not a "licence".

Ended up getting around it by refusing to hand in my SA licence when I applied for the WA Skipper's Ticket. It still has an old SA address on it that I can't change because SA can't put a WA address into their system, but at least I have an SA licence still.

    Sheer idiocy.
